(San Antonio, TX, Jan. 26, 2021) Single-family, for-sale housing will be the next addition to the rapidly-growing Brooks campus, Terramark Urban Homes and Brooks announced today. The San Antonio-based developer has purchased nearly five acres of land adjacent to The Greenline linear park for the development of a new housing community consisting of 60 single-family homes. The project, which will be named Southlake, is scheduled to break ground in early 2021.
Southlake will be the first for-sale housing development in Brooks history, allowing home buyers to purchase property belonging to the former Air Force Base. The single-family development aims to allow current Southside residents and first-time home buyers the opportunity to remain on the Southside and realize their dreams of homeownership, while also attracting new residents to the area from throughout the region.

Brooks selected Terramark Urban Homes as its partner builder for this landmark project because of the developer’s 20-year history of creating communities that blend seamlessly into urban areas. Terramark predicts it can sell the Urban@Olive homes for about $200,000-250,000. But an agreement, which is still in development with District 2, would have the City pay for infrastructure (streets, sidewalks, etc.) surrounding the project so Terramark doesn’t have to. The developer can then save money on the project overall and charge slightly more for the market price homes in order to subsidize the two or three homes made available at a reduced price – perhaps at less than $180,000.
